Dates Selection (Print Names)
<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Navigation: Printing Lists and Reports > Selection tab page (Print Names) > Field-based Selections (Print Names) > Dates Selection (Print Names) |
To print a list of names based on information in a date field, follow these steps:
•Select Print Names in File from the Names Menu.
•Check Field-based Selections on the Selection page.
•Check the Dates check box, after which the Select Dates for Printing dialog will appear.
The first choice you'll need to make once you have reached the Select Dates for Printing dialog, is to select the date you wish to use for processing. Open the drop-down menu of choices by clicking the down-arrow icon on the right edge of the combo. Listed will be all the date fields in CMD that can be considered as criteria for a list. Click on the one you wish to process with your mouse pointer. You'll be taken immediately to the next control where you will determine the Range Specifier.
Note that visitation or attendance dates are handled by checking Visitation or Attendance respectively on the Selection page of Print Names.
The Range Specifier, selected by clicking on a choice from the list presented when the Range Specifier combo is selected, allows you to determine how you want the date to be evaluated. You may select from among several choices:
•Months Range. This causes the two edit boxes at the bottom of the dialog to display a January to December list so that you can select the month or range of months that you wish to use. For example, if you want to print a list of names whose birthdays are in April, select April in both the From and To boxes. If you select April in the From box and July in the To box, then names whose birthdays fall anywhere in April through July will be included.
•Specific Date to Date. Use this option if you wish to include names whose selected date falls explicitly between the dates you specify. Note that the specified dates are inclusive, meaning that names whose selected date falls within or on the dates entered will be included.
•Number of Years. This selection includes names whose selected date subtracted from today's date generates a year number that falls within the number of years that you enter in the From and To boxes. Some uses of this selection include age, number of years married, and number of years belonging to the church.
•Calendar Year Range. Use this selection to print a list of names, for example, who joined the church during a specific calendar year or years, or a list of names who were married during a certain calendar year or year range.
•Blank Dates. CMD will include those names who have a blank date stored in the selected date. Since it's looking for blank dates, there are no further entries required.
