The Add Names to a Menu Field dialog, available as an option on the Utilities Menu, allows you to quickly mark people for most of CMD's menus.

First, select the menu field you wish to work with by opening the combo box under the title Select Menu. When you select a menu, the combo box to its right will open and display the menu items associated with the menu you selected. Select the specific Menu Item with which you wish to associate names. After the menu item is selected, a list of the names currently marked for the selected menu item will be displayed. Use the Name Search tools provided to find and highlight additional names to be added to the menu item. Once a name is highlighted, click the Add Name to List button or press Enter.

Continue adding names as needed by highlighting the next name and clicking Add Name to List or by pressing Enter. Once you are finished adding names to the menu, either make another selection from the Select Menu combo box, or click the Finished button if you are all through.

Note that when you first select a menu and menu item, any names appearing in the Current Names List will initially be listed in alpha sort order. However, any new names that you add to the list will be appended to the end of the list rather than immediately sorted into alpha order. However, if you return to this list later on, the names will be ordered by last name.

Viewing Additional Information

If you need to view a name in the context of their family to make sure you have the right name selected, highlight the name in the Names List grid and then right click on your mouse. The List Family Members dialog appears and will show you each name in the highlighted name's family, with the pointer on the name you have currently highlighted.

Removing a Name from a List

You can remove a name from its association with any menu item. To remove a name, first click on the name in the Current Names List, and then right click the mouse on that same name. A pop-up dialog will ask you to confirm your decision to remove the name's association with the field and menu item selected.
