Macros (Print Names)
<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Navigation: Printing Lists and Reports > Print Control tab page > Macros (Print Names) |
Macros are a fast and convenient way of repeating often-generated lists. There is a macro-related button on each of the two pages in the Print Names dialog.
•Get Macro. This button appears on the Print Names Selection page. When you click this button, a list of the macros that are available to you will be displayed in a dialog from which you may pick one. When a macro is selected, the selection settings and the Print Control settings that were recorded with the macro will immediately be reflected. Click Print Control to begin printing if the selections made with the macro are indeed the ones you wish to use for this report.
To select a macro, either type in its name in the edit box provided, or scroll to it on the list, double-click on it, or click on it, then click OK.
•Save as Macro. This button appears on the Print Control page. It is used to save the information currently in your Selection and Print Control pages as new macro under the name you specify after the button is clicked.
When the Save Macro dialog appears, either type in the name of a new macro and click the Save New Macro button to save, or click on a macro from the list in the lower part of the dialog and click the Update Selected Macro button if you wish to change the settings in a current macro using the ones currently in your Selection and Print Control pages.
Macros are simply a snapshot of the settings entered into the Selection and Print Control pages of Print Names at the time you click the Save as Macro button. When the Get Macro button is clicked and one is selected from the list, the items on the Selection and Print Control pages immediately assume the values that were saved. From this point, you may enter new values where needed, or click Begin Printing to initiate the printing.
Though most, but not all of CMD's selection options are available to be saved as a macro. The items that are not saved in a macro include Attendance, Visitation, and Dates selections.
Most Print Control parameters are stored, except for Attendance Grid parameters, and a few additional minor parameters.
