File Menu

The File Menu gives you access to facilities which control which data file set you are using (if you've installed more than one), and tools relating to it. Also on this menu are some features commonly found on the File Menu of virtually all Windows programs.

Open CMD File lets you open any of your installed file sets and make the data saved in them accessible through any CMD command or function. The file's description will be displayed on the status line at the bottom of the screen in the lower, left corner.

Backup Data brings up CMD's built-in data backup facility which allows you to make a safety backup of your data. Learn to get to know this command!

Restore Data is used when you need to recover from damage or loss of your data file, or when bringing data in from another computer in your church on which CMD is installed.

Create New CMD File allows you to add a brand new data file set to your CMD installation. You may install multiple distinct data file sets with your CMD system. You can add both local and network/remote files and have both types in your installation.

Configuration lets you view or change parameters in your CMD's configuration.

Logout. Use this command if you are leaving the computer for awhile but don’t wish to unload CMD. This will disconnect you from the network connection to the data files but will leave the program running. The login screen will be displayed immediately upon logout, waiting for you to log back in. No one can use the program while you are away unless they login properly.

Exit shuts CMD down completely, removing it from memory.
