Create New CMD File
<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Navigation: File Menu > Create New CMD File |
Starting in CMD 2015, when you create a new CMD file, you need to first determine if you are going to create a new local CMD file, or create a remote/network file. Select the appropriate item from the sub-menu when you select the File Menu's Create New CMD File option.
Local files can be of two types:
•A CMD file created for use on a single, stand-alone computer to which no other computers will connect to share the data.
•A CMD file created on a computer acting as host computer in a local network of computers which will connect to the host computer to access CMD's data without the use of the remote database server software.
Remote/Network files can be of two types as well:
•A CMD file created on a host computer or hardware server in a local network at your church office or school where the remote database server software has been installed.
•A CMD file created on a host computer or hardware server that can accessed remotely off-site, such as on a home laptop or desktop computer where the remote database server software has been installed on the host computer.
Consult the specific help topic for each of these choices.
