The Date Minder Preferences dialog, accessible when you select Date Minders on the Preferences Menu, allows you to set a day range that CMD uses when you access the Date Minders dialog.

When you initially call up the actual Date Minders dialog, it will list the names whose date falls with the day range you specify here for the default date that you specify here.

For example, if you set Birth as the Default Date, and set 7 in the Days From Today field, then when you call up the actual Date Minders dialog, you’ll immediately be presented with a list of all names whose birthdays fall within a week from today’s date.

Because you can access other CMD dates on the Date Minders dialog with a simple selection, we’ve provided default day ranges for each of those dates. That way you can set these according to your preferences.

For example, perhaps you wish to have a list of this week’s birthdays every Monday. So enter 7 for the Birth field’s Days from Today field. But, let’s say you want a longer-term look at those whose baptismal anniversary is coming up, so you might set that one for 14 days. That will give you time to plan a visit if you wish.

A value of 0 in the Days from Today field limits the list on the Date Minders dialog to those with birthdays, anniversaries, etc, only on today’s date.When you have set the values as desired, click the Save Date Minder Preferences button.
