CMD has an external utility program, CMD Tools, to help you manage your CMD's configuration and startup files as well as manage the CMD Server and CMD Web Server software.

Configuration files are defined as those files that are used by CMD's data engine to keep track of each CMD file that is created and used in CMD. It is also the responsibility of the configuration files to manage things when more than one user is connected to a CMD file at the same time.

CMD's Startup File is a small data file that helps CMD remember where all the CMD files are located. It also remembers if they are remote/network, or local files.

CMD provides these two utilities outside of CMD because some operations can only be performed or are best performed while CMD is not actually running at the time. During setup, icons for both files are placed on your desktop along with CMD's icon, and they are also placed in CMD's Start Menu. Click the link below for specific information for each utility:
